FIRSTGEN CONTENT: DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

About Us:

FirstGen Content is an entertainment finance and production company. We challenge audiences to engage stories otherwise overlooked by convention and are committed to enabling great artists regardless of format or platform. With experience in both entertainment and financial industries, we aim to balance artistic inspiration with systematic approaches in all our decision-making. We co-produced Catch the Fair One with Oscar-winning producer Mollye Asher (Nomadland, The Rider, Swallow). The film won the Audience Award at Tribeca 2021. Our most recent project, Call Jane, is an upcoming film we co-produced with Oscar-nominated Robbie Brenner (Dallas Buyers Club). The film is directed by Phyllis Nagy (Carol) and premiered at Sundance 2022. We’re currently in pre-production with our next project, which we’ll be co-producing with Jamie Foxx’s production company, Foxx Hole Productions. We have several projects in development and are working with award-winning directors, writers, and producers to release an exciting and innovative slate of film and television projects for 2022+.


Our Team:

Our leadership team consists of experts from the entertainment, technology, and financial industries. Our CEO, Michael D’Alto, comes from Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund, where he was a member of the firm’s Operating Committee and led Client Service & Marketing, Talent, the Office of the CEO, and Research Technology. Mollye Asher, Oscar-winning producer of Nomadland, The Rider, Swallow, is our Head of Production.


What We're Looking For:

FirstGen Content is looking for interns to assist our Development team in the acquisition and development of relevant stories for television, film, online streaming and other platforms. An ideal candidate is pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in TV & Film, Journalism, Communications, or a related subject. They have a passion for all things media and entertainment, maintain exceptional organizational skills, and have outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities. Experience with filmmaking (through school or experience) as well as interest in the business of film & knowledge of film industry players is preferred.


This position is remote and has a commitment of 10-15 hours a week. It would start in May, with a three month time commitment. School credit is available upon request.


Your Responsibilities:

• Reviewing creative materials and providing strong written feedback to Development executives

• Participating in a weekly zoom conference call with Development & Production executives to discuss script coverage

• Researching publishing sites, media blogs, etc. for potential project ideas and trending topics

• Assisting executives with various research projects

• Helping build out FirstGen's development operating processes
