I am a casting director and producer based in NYC. My company Damian Bao Casting has worked on the casting of films, TV shows, commercials, fashion and beauty ad campaigns, and music videos. I recently finished the casting of 2 feature films: Goldie (Tribeca and Berlin Film Festivals premiere) by Sam de Jong, which starred Slick Woods, Marsha Stephanie Blake, and A$AP Ferg and was produced by Vice Films & 20th Century Fox with Rosie Perez as executive producer, and Danielle Lessovitz’s Port Authority (Cannes Film Festival premiere), which was executive produced by Martin Scorsese and starred Dunkirk breakout Fionn Whitehead and Leyna Bloom. For both films, I spearheaded a hybrid casting strategy that combined professional actors with real people, dancers, and artists.

At this time, we are looking to hire 2-3 interns based in Texas who have an interest in filmmaking, photography, or storytelling to assist us on the casting of a feature film and other various projects. We are looking for creative, outgoing, curious interns with the determination to tell genuine stories. They must be organized, dedicated to any task at hand, and tech-savvy. Interns will be working remotely and scouting in-person in their surrounding areas assisting and helping the casting team find interesting real people for a narrative film. We’re looking for someone available 16 hours a week with an interest in working in the film and entertainment industry. Please note we are also specifically looking for an intern with fluency in Mandarin for a feature film project.
Must be enrolled in college, and have a car and valid driver's license. This internship is for the winter and spring semesters for class credit.
Some duties will include scouting for local talent and researching/finding cool talent via social media/online, reviewing auditions, with some possible admin duties. Previous casting experience is not required, but social media fluency in TikTok and Instagram is preferred. A great eye for faces is a plus!
