(VOLUNTEER) Austin Jewish Film Festival

Volunteers Needed for the Austin Jewish Film Festival which runs from November 2-12, 2023! We are looking for greeters, ushers, and box office assistants. If you are interested in learning more, contact volunteer@austinjff.org. Our festival runs from Thursday, November 2 through Sunday, November 12, with all screenings taking place on the Dell Jewish Community Campus. We will run both weekends, with no screenings mid-week. Details about screenings, times and complete dates are found in the attachment. I’ve seen many of the selected films and I can tell you that we’ve got great offerings this year!

Benefits to being a volunteer this year:

  • Endorphins! You’re helping the organization and we can’t do this without you

  • A volunteer t-shirt

  • Volunteer for at least 3 shifts, you will receive an online pass to watch nearly all the films at home the week of November 13.

There are many different roles for volunteers this year. We will need the following:

  • Ushers / Ticket Takers – Using our iPads to scan tickets from phones or paper printouts & Helping people find seats in the theater and ensuring quiet & no cell phone usage, as well as directing people to the restrooms and water fountains

  • Box Office Assistance – Help our guests purchase tickets and/or retrieve tickets they have purchased, but can’t find on their phones

  • Reception Helpers - Setting up, serving, cleaning up from our receptions

We will have at least one video that every volunteer needs to watch prior to your shift(s) which will explain the different roles.
