Description: Hello, I’m currently taking RTF 367D, a directing workshop class, at the University of Texas at Austin. I’m looking for actors who would be interested in rehearsing and eventually performing this scene in front of a class of film students. Casting Call for a scene from Mary Harron’s American Psycho (2000). The scene in question is the second interrogation between Wall Street yuppie and secret serial killer Patrick Bateman and Detective Donald Kimball. Kimball is investigating the disappearance of Paul Allen (a banker murdered by Bateman), and is questioning Bateman on his alibis and encounters with Allen.
PATRICK BATEMAN: White Male (20-30): Cold and elusive Wall Street type, puts up a friendly facade to hide his bloodlust; materialistic and crass
DONALD KIMBALL: Male (mid-20s-40s): Straightforward and direct, but amicable detective; suspicious of Bateman Commitment: 3 Rehearsals between casting (times and dates to be determined after casting) and October 4th, 2022 at 2 P.M. (day of performance)
Compensation: You will be provided with a recording of your performance in the class Auditions will be held on Thursday, September 15th and Saturday, September 17th at 5 P.M. over Zoom (link to be provided). We will simply be doing cold reads for this process. Scripts will be provided for the day of auditions.
